Description

Overview Two-handled globular jar Late New Kingdom, Ramesside ca. 1886–1070 B.C. On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 126 This large two-handled storage jar is from the houses east, north, and west of the pyramid of Amenemhat I. The black coating on the interior suggests that it migt have been used at some point for mummification or embalming, then perhaps re-used for storage.
