Description

Overview Uninscribed Scarab Bead New Kingdom ca. 1504–1447 B.C. On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 116 This uninscribed scarab bead was found near the remains of a small basket inside the coffin of a man named Amenemhat. The basket had been placed near the head of Amenemhat's mummy and seems to have contained more some 400 mostly uninscribed scarabs and a variety of other beads.
