Description

Overview Vase Hobbs, Brockunier and Company American 1886–90 On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 706 Several glass factories manufactured lines of glass similar to Peach Blow, but Hobbs, Brockunier and Company’s patented version was the only one made with white opal glass coated with a layer of ambercolored glass shading to ruby. These colors were meant to imitate the glaze of a famous Chinese porcelain, the Morgan Vase, which sold at auction in 1886.
