Description

Overview Vase American 1830–70 Not on view This vase was pressed in two pieces, and a flat disk was used to join the bowl to the stem. This technique is believed to have been largely confined to New England glasshouses. By 1875, a Pittsburgh firm, Atterbury and Company, had developed a process for pressing such forms in a single mold.
