Description

Overview Water cooler Julius and Edward Norton American 1850–59 On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 704 During the 1850s, Julius and Edward Norton, like their upstate New York competitors, produced stoneware with designs in cobalt blue slip. Typical of the motifs found on their wares are birds, flowers, stags, dogs, and eagles, executed with little regard to relative scale.
